So says Liz, whom biology actually requires to say this about me. She passed on the Beautiful Blogger Award, for which I am eternally grateful. Also, I feel pretty.
Apparently, to accept the award, I have to list seven facts about myself and bestow the award to seven blog-friends. UNFORTUNATELY I only have about two other blogger friends. Allow me to fill your face with FACTS then award as many beautiful blogger awards as I can!
- Fact Uno: I’ve pretty much always written too much. I got a diary when I was 9 (which I should probably take from my parents’ house the next time I’m there, lest they find out I had a crush on someone when I was like 11). Then I journaled my angsty teen feelings through middle and high school, and eventually started several xangas, a blog about social awkwardness, a feminist blog, and this masterpiece. And yes, I still keep notebooks around to record half-finished ideas and angsty feelings.
- Fact Dos: A Brief History of my Favorite Bands. Since this is usually a music blog, here goes what I remember of the chronology: Hootie and the Blowfish, The Monkees, Hanson, the Backstreet Boys, Something Corporate, Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley/Jenny Lewis, Thao.
- Fact Tres: Liz’s Favorite Fact About Me. I went to the junior prom with a Lost Boy. I wish I could find him on facebook!
- Fact Cuatro: I lived above a French bakery for eight months. The only way it could have been more authentically French would be if I was the baker.
- Fact Cinco: I dabble in musical instruments. There’s no space for furniture because of all the instruments in my bedroom. If I could get paid to sit around and play badly, I’d be GOLDEN.
- Fact Seis: I’ve sprained four different places on my body. No pervy comments, thanks. Both ankles, a wrist, and a FOOT. Bet you didn’t even know you could sprain your foot.
- Fact Siete: I have size 11 feet. Closer to 12 in running shoes. That’s huge. (That’s what she said.)
NOW on to the meat of this post: other beautiful bloggers!
- Gimmy of Run, Sara, Run (I’m perpetuating this award among athlete blogs! Damnit!)
- Missy of Travel With Curls (Also props for the best tagline ever–”Follow my curls as they bounce around the world!”)
- Anna at AnnaJane (TURNS OUT Twitter is a really good resource for finding out people you’ve known forever have blogs. I’m hoping I can peer pressure everyone into actually posting again. Also turns out Anna’s initials are AJHJ and if I’d known this 8 years ago, I probably would have called her AJ instead of PJ Hinklebottom.)
- Holly at Stop Street Harassment (’cause not even trolls can keep her down)
In lieu of the rest, please accept what is widely considered the best thing I ever posted to the internets:

Modeling contract, please?

Don’t forget Billy Joel. And that fact was my old roommate’s favorite fact. She used to break it out at dinner parties–though I had no idea she knew.

I did forget Billy Joel! Also, Ace of Bass. And Gimmy, you and your normal-sized feet can just walk away RIGHT NOW.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE SHOUT OUT!
Maybe this will be the motivation I need to actually write a post. Maybe.
Please accept this comment is my form of bestowing such an awesome award on you in return. Looooooooooooooooooove!

The Socially Awkward Blog has been inactive forever! Surely, you have not cured social awkwardness…
Also, I’m surprised to find that we shared quite a few commonalities in the development of our tastes in music. Those similarities dropped off after Rilo Kiley–that’s when your taste becomes too “ridiculous” (your word, taken from a later entry) for me.

The Socially Awkward blog was a gem, I agree. Also thanks for making me me LOL. I definitely have not cured social awkwardness.
