New For Friday: New Song BONANZA

It’s been a long week. Here are some places you can go to stream new songs:

1. Vampire Weekend’s MySpace to hear all of Contra which comes out on Tuesday,
2. April Smith’s MySpace to hear “Can’t Say No,” from Songs For a Sinking Ship, available Feb 23rd. This song is about her DOG! Dawwwww.
3. The Extraordinaires – ok, I don’t know how new any of their songs are, but these guys just finished touring with Gogol Bordello, and they’re coming back to DC on Thursday to play with Olivia Mancini. They’re goofy–like, wear masks on the back of their heads and play fish-shaped guitars goofy–but they have a song about a cactus named Hi Five who likes to give high fives, except he is a cactus. Also, for some reason, nobody is nice to him. I’m not easily moved to tears (unless I’m watching Hairspray or something) but, GOD DAMN, this is some emotional shit.
