I Return With Awesome

I am back to the bloggin’ world, so let’s celebrate with some awesome music.

As I mentioned before, Modest Mouse are releasing EPs in preparation for their newest album of B-sides ”No One’s First and You’re Next.” To celebrate, they are releasing a shit ton of videos.  Their newest is “King Rat” directed by the late Heath Ledger (I am saving all my Tupac jokes for The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus).

I’m not gonna lie. A lot of the time, when I hear collections of B-sides and discarded songs, I understand why they were that way.   This song would have fit perfectly into “Good News For People Who Love Bad News” though, and really shouldn’t have been discarded so unceremoniously.

Also, props to Heath Ledger for the disturbing-as-crap video that might be an anti-fishing message, or just something creepy. More props for the cameo by Chris Funk as the sun (Note: I have no clue if that is actually Chris Funk).
