I’m not savvy enough to listen to the XYZ Affair, but I listen anyway. Seriously, their lyrics are wry and very smart–probably too smart for me. Off the top of my head, I’ve either googled or accidentally come to understand references to the New York Dolls, The Great Gatsby, and Michael Jackson. I’m sure there are others. But one reference always escaped me—what is the Oceana Roll?? I mean, it’s the only dance the narrator knows, and it’s nowhere on the internet?
